The Alberta Police Review Commission (APRC) is being touted by them as an independent civilian body that will investigate complaints about the conduct of police officers. They state that their goal will be to have fair and unbiased investigations whilst holding law enforcement and others accountable while strengthening public confidence in policing across Alberta. The APRC’s full website will launch along with the agency in December 2025.
STATEMENT FROM JOHN NED KELLY: : In the past they threw out very serious complaints against officers by invoking the Alberta Police Acts statutes of limitations, as well as not being able to go after officers once they resign, and that is because they charge the officers with offences under the Police Act or there own Rules and Regulations, and never or rarely charge them under the Criminal Code of Canada where there are no Statute of Limitations.
They have used that policy to their advantage for decades in cover ups. But we’ll soon see how Fair Transparent and Accountable they are when presented with those.
